Do Not Attempt Resuscitation order
= DNAR order
an instruction, usually made by a patient while mentally competent and recorded in their notes, requesting the doctor to desist from performing resuscitation in the event of heart failure. In the past, elderly patients have often been subject to DNAR orders without their knowledge.
